Kids and Student Summer Events

We have BIG plans for this summer for our Kids and Students. Check out the events below, and keep reading to see all that we do for the next generation at Cross City!

Vision for NextGen Ministry

We are to...
• Affect the children of our community with the message of Christ’s love.
• Encourage children to accept Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and become part of our church family.
• Foster growth in their relationship with Jesus Christ and His Word.
• Facilitate skill-building through relevant biblical teaching, positive role-modeling, and esteem building.
• Prepare children to discover their uniqueness and eventually God’s mission for their lives.

What is our strategy?

It's simple. It starts with two individual influences in a child’s life HOME & CHURCH

Alone, these two work hard to ensure that every child has a BETTER FUTURE

But when they’re combined, the home and church will have a GREATER IMPACT

Eventually, she felt God lead her to Kids' Ministry and is please to continue that work at Cross city. In her free time, Kari enjoys camping, hiking, and going to her boys' orchestra concerts.

The Gospel Project

The Gospel Project takes kids on a Christ-centered, chronological journey through Scripture. Kids will discover how the gospel unfolds from Genesis through Revelation. When kids truly experience the gospel, their hearts are transformed. It is the gospel, not good behavior, that changes everything.

Bible Drill

Bible Drill is a Southern Baptist Convention program involving children, youth, and high school students in systematic memorization and location of certain Scriptures. There will be church-wide, state-wide and national competitions in the Spring.

Preteen Competencies

Our curriculum allows us, the church, to incorporate our own benchmarks into what we’re learning each week. By the time your child completes 6th grade in Cross City Kids they will be able to do the following:

Know and locate the books of the Bible, their basic grouping, specific passages, and key biblical people and events.
Learn and share the truth of the Gospel message.
Learn and use spiritual gifts.

Establish and practice spiritual disciplines.

Greg Garcia

Student Pastor

Greg has been at Cross City for 30 years. Greg met his wife Ashlee in 2008 while they were both serving in our student ministry. They were married in 2011 and have a six-year-old daughter Audrey Dae, who accepted Jesus as her Savior during the Cross Service in 2022. Greg accepted the call to ministry in 2012 and served as the College Minister at Cross City for four years. During that time, Greg studied at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, pursuing a Biblical Studies degree. Greg has a heart and passion to disciple and train the next generation, and anyone who knows him knows how much he loves people. In his free time, Greg enjoys cheering for the Chelsea Football Club and playing pickleball with his wife.
